Gator's A&P Tech Prep ("the App") is operated by Backshop Labs. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (stored securely via Firebase Authentication). We do not collect your name, phone number, or payment information directly — payments are processed by Apple or Google and governed by their respective privacy policies.

Usage Data
We collect data about how you use the App, including quiz scores, study progress, XP and rank data, badges earned, and streaks. This data is stored in Firebase Firestore and is associated with your account.

Voice Input
The App includes a voice quiz feature that uses your device's microphone to record spoken answers. Voice input is transmitted to the Claude API (operated by Anthropic) for processing and grading. We do not store audio recordings. Transcribed text may be temporarily processed to generate a grade and feedback response.

AI Study Chat
When you use the AI Study Chat feature, your typed or spoken messages are sent to the Claude API for processing. These interactions are not permanently stored by Backshop Labs. Anthropic's data practices are governed by their privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.

2. How We Use Your Information

The App requests access to your device's microphone solely to enable the voice quiz feature. Microphone access is only activated when you initiate a voice quiz session by tapping the microphone button. We do not record audio passively or in the background. You may deny microphone permission and still use all other features of the App.

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data will be removed from our systems within 30 days. You may request account deletion by contacting us at the email address below.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it promptly.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including Firebase Authentication and Firestore security rules to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Advertising

The App does not display advertisements and does not use advertising identifiers (such as Google Advertising ID) for any purpose.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email address below. You may also delete your account directly within the App settings.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
